Spring is quickly coming to an end here in Japan, and with the closing of spring comes the rain. While June may be the month for beautful outdoor weddings in the United States, few Japanese people would be foolish enough to plan such an event unless umbrellas were part of the decor. Every June it rains and rains and rains until you actually begin to wonder whether the sun will ever shine again. Although the rain will likely put a brief stop to our outdoor adventures---Luke's rock climbing, Sarah's walks with the kids, Tommy's sandbox playing---we try to enjoy it because what's coming after the rain may be even worse: summer. A scorching, incredibly humid summer. So for now we'll enjoy watching the rain fall.
We've had a fun spring full of exciting events: Eden's sudden transition from docile to daring, Tommy's birthday and trip to see Thomas the Tank Engine and friends at an amusement park, and, of course, Grandma Sue's visit, which included lots of traveling and sightseeing. We hope you enjoy all of the photos!
