A few days after preschool began in April, Tommy came home with a smile and exclaimed, "Boku yochien daisuki!" ("I love preschool!"). His feelings about preschool have been positive from the beginning. Every day he comes home singing new songs, doing new dances, and informing Sarah about all the funny things his school friends did that day. He's especially fond of one friend, Kichi-kun, who is (of course) also a Thomas the Train fanatic. With all the new friends he's made at school, Tommy will undoubtedly be a bit sad about returning to Tennessee in July, but we're thrilled that he's been having so much fun while we've been here. His Japanese skills are improving too---his teacher often sends notes home to tell us the latest word or phrase he has acquired.
